The first book opens the world.
It introduces Laya's voice, her way of seeing, and how one small spark can grow into something much bigger. This first story is only the beginning.
What you do with itis the adventure.
A blank page is not empty.
It is full of possibility.
A pencil is not just a pencil.
It is a way forward.
A misstep is not the end.
It is a chance to try again.
A chance to find a new way.
Laya draws, builds, questions, tests, tumbles, adjusts, and begins again... because in her world, giving up too soon means missing what might happen next.
She keeps learning.
She keeps going.
She keeps growing.
It introduces Laya's voice, her way of seeing, and how one small spark can grow into something much bigger. This first story is only the beginning.

The Storyteller Behind “Laya Bug”
Greg Shultz is a founder and hands-on creative lead at Gasket Studios, where he helps teams bring ideas to life across animation, VFX, and immersive storytelling. His work includes projects connected to Disney and Activision, along with brand storytelling for Amazon, Target, and Best Buy and many more.
He’s also a girl-dad who loves reading at night, believes curiosity is a superpower, and isn’t afraid to adapt when an idea takes an unexpected turn. Laya Bug comes from that place—entertaining, warm, and built around one belief: big ideas are worth following.
I created Laya Bug for kids growing up in a world full of tools, information, and endless possibilities. What matters most to me is helping them see that their real strength will not just come from what they know, but from how they think, how they adapt, and whether they keep going when the first try leads somewhere unexpected.
Laya Bug is about wonder in motion. She draws, builds, questions, tests, and tries again. Through her, I want kids to feel brave enough to start, curious enough to explore, and confident enough to keep going.
